Anonymous asked: most beautiful and tragic thing you have ever seen?

Once when I was driving on the highway I saw a crow dive down to get at these fries someone had thrown out their window, except it miscalculated and got hit and for a second all I could see were black feathers, everywhere, except then I was past it and that was that. Or maybe it was the last time Leslie laughed at me, before she died, except I had no way of knowing it would be the last time. It might also be the day that I had to “unshop” a cart so full of groceries it was overflowing, because an old woman had come in alone and filled that cart past capacity and then wandered out again, just leaving it alone and full of things that one person could never have eaten in time, like some monument to age and forgetfulness and I cried while I emptied it all out again because maybe what’s sadder than dying is forgetting how to live before it all ends. 

But gee I dunno. Everything is beautiful, everything is sad. Have you read the news lately?
