Lessons learned on Pancake Day -
- Pancakes in the UK are not what us American citizens have grown up eating. They’re really more like crepes, wide and wafer thin.
- They don’t understand the concept of maple syrup, or eating pancakes with bacon, or why pancakes like ours would exist.
- The traditional topping is lemon juice and sugar.
- It’s delicious.
- Pancake Day, by the way, is the Fat Tuesday tradition over here. They know it’s called other things, but apparently everyone just calls it Pancake Day.
- I ate six pancakes.
- That is too many.
- I think it’s really cute that every year on this day all the families make pancakes.
- Every day should be pancake day though.
